The Law of Money Topics

I think I am just plain dumb. I totally can't read a woman's mood or her temperament or just totally don't understand her.....

Sunday night and everything was well. Heck, we went to have another nice Japanese dinner at Jurin and after that a nice cone of Haagen Dazs for both of us. I even met her mom and fetched her home.
So, what happened last night? I called her slightly late, some 15 minutes. Silly me, i should not lie on the bed calling her. After all, when you are calling the girl you like, you should sit on a chair or on the floor or standing up. Never, never, never do it lying down! Cause if you don't get through you may accidentally fall asleep. And that is what happened to me yesterday night.

When i get through to her, I say sorry, I fell asleep and lets talk. She tells me she wants to brush her teeth...so she will call me when she's done. Now, i wanted to make sure i am the one to call her, so i confirmed...."You will call me and I answer or you will MISS call me and I call you back?".....So she says she will MISS call me. Done....

So she calls back like some 5 minutes later and we start chatting. For all the topics to bring up, she asked if I was going to call the home phone from now on, since i was questioning her about the MISS call thing....Now....This is where if the guy is smart, and I say IF (one big giant IF), he would realize she is saying "Well, are you feeling the pinch on your pocket for mobile to mobile?"

But like the stupid dude I am, I actually tell her, "YES!".....Oh mommy! Die!!!Die!!!Die!!!
I go on to say that i am looking for another package that would use the same mobile provider with her and that's DIGI instead of mine which is MAXIS. Anyway....i go on rambling about this and how lazy i am to get it done, but will get it done, and asks if she wants to come along with me to get it done.

Then, she say's "You sound unhappy"...And proceeds to tell me she is getting "Man Chang" and frus and irritated by me....Darn...WTF?? What did I do? **

**Note: Men shouldn't complain...If they complain, they better find a solution. When they find a solution, they better dun be lazy. They better solve it. And don't ask anyone else to solve it....And don't even make it sound like you are asking the person to go wif you, coz you may want them to solve it for you.....AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Then she received a phone call on the land line....She talked awhile on the land line and then she hung up on me.....SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!! I was like shit....WTF? She really feels for this thing...So i wait awhile and call her back. She didn't apologize which told me that was deliberate hanging up....So we continued talking and she told me that she wasn't really in a good mood, and i need to be more sensitive when I talk. ###

Anyway, we talked it out like the good adults that we are and ended the conversation a in civil manner. I managed to make her laugh once or twice and when she did that, I realized i really cared for her as i did not want the conversation to end with both of us unhappy. Finally, I agreed to call her tonight on my mobile......

New Penang CM's current home

I was having dinner with some friends last night at this fantastic restaurant called Cuisine Bou down at Burmah Road. It serves very good Japanese food. We were all yet to dig into any Hiyashi Chuuka, Sake Kawa Temaki, Sake Teriyaki...etc..etc.. when all of a sudden, one of them asks, "Where does Lim Guan Eng stay?" Who you may ask is Lim Guan Eng?


This yah, is Lim Guan Eng (with his arms spread wide).....New Penang Chief Minister after 18 years of some other guy called Dr. Koh Tsu Koon....The Penangites got fed up of 18 years of Dr. Koh, so we threw him and his party out of the state and got this fella and his party, the Opposition DAP, in. Though i must make a passing remark that in defeat, the whole Malaysia saw how graceful Dr. Koh was in handing over the reins of power.....Kudos to Dr. Koh! (see smaller pic)

I know where he stays and i know there are many Penangites who know where he is staying but my friend is from Damansara so he was just curious. Why would you want to know where Guan Eng is staying? Going to stalk him? Going to pay him a visit? Take photos? Hai....no need lah...The man already got lots of pics of him.

I think YAB would want a quiet time around the house where he is currently staying. It is a modest corner, semi-detached. You would not even think twice about looking at it. That i think is how our Malaysian politicians should live. Modestly....YAB said the Rumah Tetamu (Guest House in English), official residence of the CM is having 'atap bocor' and will cost RM300000 to repair. I was like WTF???????? Atap bocor until so bad that it will cost RM300000?????

Where's the proper maintenance on a place like this? For heaven's sake, that's the CM's official house. Why is the upkeep so terrible? Where were the people taking care of the house that, now with a new CM, he cannot even move in?? And to move in he would have to fork out another RM300000 of Penang tax payers money to repair. And rightly so that he did not do that......
So what happened to taxpayers money allocated for the upkeep of the Rumah Tetamu? One can only wonder how come some other politicians are richer.....Hai...

Tinggal sendiri punya rumah lebih bagus. Don't fuss over some official residence. I think its only right. It is just for pure show off that the CM needs an official residence. In fact, i think we should just do away with the official house. If Datuk Seri Abdullah comes a calling, he can visit Guan Eng at KOMTAR or that little house. Perhaps, we should let government officials stay at government quarters...Hahahaha.... :D

But I digress. I did have an inkling where he was staying when, on one early Saturday morning, after buying my Tausa Pau and driving off from the kopitiam, i saw PG1....Official CM car outside the house...Then i knew that Mr. Lim had taken up residence at Mr. Lim's.

Anyway, my friend did not give a satisfactory answer, so i decided it best not to tell him or anyone. C'mon.....it took us 40 years to vote in an Opposition for State Govt. and you want to scare their leader away?

Blogging Style....& Penang Development.....

Short bursts of few ideas would be fine....Rather than my current lazy style of going through a few months with no posts and finally writing them all in one go...

Its a holiday today, Maulidur Rasul. So i get up early for a hike. Where else but the Botanical Gardens......

I get there at like 7.30am, and already my favourite parking spots have been taken up. Fine....So i go park further up. I get charged RM1. Why? Isn't it a public parking space? Why are these folks on motorbikes going around collecting money? There's this one guy collecting money CF (the girl who currently owns my heart) says looks like a 'hamsap lo'...

Anyway....i go hike. It takes me 20 minutes to hike to Stop#46 and i was like dying there. I did it too fast and too fast....My heart was going like some 200bpm....But that's not the point...My point is I am a KPC....and as the story goes on, you'll find out why....

I was driving home today and noticed this new Kompleks Penjaja coming up next to the apartments where Jerry stays. I was like, oh well, another building coming up in Penang for the 'greater good' of the Penang people. I have been passed there a few times and even one time while waiting to fetch Jerry i noticed the construction but it did not peak my interest.

So this time, I made a U-turn, parked my car close by and being the KPC that I am, walked around the construction site. Its all hidden up by zinc barriers and if you stood on the other side of the wall over at the apartments, you would not have a clear view too. How do the people know that you are really working then?

As I was leaving, I met Jerry and QF coming back from an early morning walk/hike/run. And so i took the opportunity to query him. Apparently, they (someone, probably that DUN who is no longer DUN) wanted to move all the outside hawker stalls currently located at the entrance of the Botanical Gardens into that Kompleks Penjaja. With that, they can extend the B.G. area. But, that would mean......

- Lost of parking spaces closer to the B.G. gate
- Hamsap Lo and his gang of money collectors would have either less or no money to collect
- People can't seat outside kopitiams or at road side an enjoy thosai, roti or milo

I remembered New World Park. Before New World Park, there was Swatow Lane, where all, and I really mean all the food was delicious & tasty. Is this going to end up like that but in a smaller scale? Jerry says the construction started just before the elections. It was probably approved and will go on. But those who sucks at the DUN job are no longer there after March 8th elections. Now, his apartment will have a hawker center next to it, i won't get to enjoy that good outdoor thosai watching people walk by. That piece of land....it used to be land for parking with some nice plants and flower pots surrounding.

They should have left it that way......Where do i park now if they take away the other parking spots? Why QKH?? Is this necessary? Put everything in a hawker stall so they don't hawk no more. It doesn't reflect the genuineness of Penang & Kebun Bunga....

It's been a long time since i last blogged....This will be a double blog and both on my personal life. Though the 1st is more personal.......

Lets get down to business.

New Year - Yeah, it's 2008. Happy New Year!
Chinese New Year - Yeah, it's the year of the Rat. Gong Xi Fa Cai!

February 16th, 2008 - Now this date....I was ushering in church and got the opportunity to serve with a very pretty girl I have been admiring for nearly 1 year. I first saw her on March 17th 2007 on my first outing as an usher for the church.
Imagine...1 year in the same team and only say Hi and Bye. I guess if i had opened my mouth to say something, I'd probably screw up big time and say something stupid like, "Errrrr.....errr....errr...." or "Ah...er...my...my.....???"

So thanks, Angelyn, even if you don't know this blog.

February 18th - Sent first email. Darn nervous leh....What time is she gonna reply? She did, around 6.30pm after I had gone home. Some more I sent an SMS to confirm she received the email. And i wrote two emails, cause the 1st one sounded a bit stupid and the 2nd one to correct the first one. That made me look like a git.
But, thanks to YS, you really help me....Goes to show how much I suck at trying to chat with a girl I like or even write an email....

Well, over the week, we just emailed over our Outlook and we did talk on the phone that was really nice. Finally our first date....24th February 2008........at 600cc in New World Park. And she was not feeling well... :(
Though i did not find out how really sick she was until 3 weeks later when she told me how she actually felt on that day but didn't want to spoil the date. Oh well, this is a girl I so really, really, really like that I am willing to wait and wait and wait.....And also be patient with, though she saw my impatient side and i got scolded for that.... :P I promise to improve...

Since then, we have been to hiking, koay teow thng (her favourite is at Amoy Lane), Ingolfs at Penang Swimming Club, Sushi King (at Gurney Plaza), Food Loft and who knows where more??
We have had our fair share of ups and downs in the last 3 weeks but still getting to know each other. We talk nearly every night and share about our likes and dislikes. And got into an argument over stingyness, though i can confidently say I am not stingy...though I don't share her view on how to define a stingy person.........Till its too late...Hahaha.... :D

On a more somber note, her dad was admitted to hospital last week, and is still in. I won't elaborate here, but I know at this time she will need to be strong and if I really do care about her, will need to be more sensitive to her needs and be a strong listener too. I pray that things will turn out fine for her.....
